Majikku Ramen

Some nights call for a curry that hugs you back, and on Friday, Majikku answered the knock at my chamber door. The Katsu Curry Udon Soup with Chicken arrived dark, rich, and deep, the kind of broth with layers you keep digging into like a mystery that refuses to end. Warm, comforting, and exactly what a chilly evening needed. My one quibble: it could stand a little more fire. I wanted a slow burn and got a gentle glow.

The appetizers stole the scene. The gyoza were terrific, and then there was the korokke: fried mashed potatoes, golden outside and pillowy within. New to me, and now haunting my thoughts. Order them. You’ll thank me from beyond the takeout bag.

Verdict: Comforting curry, killer starters, could use more heat. Quoth the raven: korokke, evermore.
